I’m an eater. Always have been. After years of telling anyone who came into contact with me to try the new absolute best brownie I’d just discovered, or the new absolute best pickled okra, or the new absolute best fleur de sel caramel … well, you get the idea, it was a list that had taken on a life of its own. It begged to be written down somewhere. And so, Finders Eaters was born! I’m delighted to be able to share with you what myself and the other Finders consider truly outstanding eats. Thank you and enjoy!

Why do I have the best taste buds ever? — because this sandy-haired, blue-eyed New Englander was mothered by a true Italian and I have nothing to show for it (no visible representation, that is) save a loud mouth and a penchant for eating. So, I eat a lot, and well. In fact, I couldn’t have written these few lines without two trips to the kitchen (trip one: dark-chocolate brownie, milk; trip two: real black licorice). Gotta make Mama proud.

I come to food by way of theater, which may explain why I like to follow the story from ingredient to person to region: Anson Mills’ revelatory polenta threw me into a fit about milling corn, and I could have run off to the farm with the guy giving out raw milk cheese samples from Hawthorne Valley Farm. Along with these stories, I’m always hunting for the dreamiest olives, nuts, cheeses, grains, hummus, spices, salt, macarons, dark chocolate, and anything pickled.

My passions are art, food, and style. I love when you can find all of those in one product. I graduated from The Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Printmaking, but I grew up with my life revolving around food. I come from a long line of food enthusiasts. I’ve enjoyed wonderful food, helped create it, and have helped sell it. I’ve also done my stint waitressing. I love finding something new and special that is made with an artist’s passion and being able to share that treasure with others.

At seventeen, the discovery of manchego, real olives, and spicy chorizo in a Spanish market inspired me to eat my way through the rest of my year abroad. An East Coaster at heart, I am now exploring the remarkable variety of fresh produce and food artistry that California offers. The cultural importance of food has fascinated me as an anthropologist and opened many doors for me; gifts of blazing hot peppers, homemade Irish goat cheese, and mole have been the result.

My career as an event planner with corporations and arts organizations allows me to entertain internationally, creating menus for leaders in the worlds of business, politics, arts, and society. Living by the rule that one should try everything at least once, I bring my discerning taste, a discriminating palette, and passion for all things food-related to Finders Eaters.
